A great place to come and eat some southern food with friends. My first time and an awesome experience. I had the fried pork shops with macaroni with cheese and green beans. The meat was so tender and seasoned just right. The portions are a good size. I will come again!"

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a beautiful ambiance with warm decor that set the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. Chef Marshelle’s culinary expertise shines in every dish. Each bite was bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection, embodying the heart and soul of authentic Southern cuisine. It’s rare to find soul food that hits this level of excellence. Marcell, our waiter, was phenomenal, attentive, friendly, and ensured every need was met with a smile. Shay, our server, added to the experience with her efficiency and welcoming demeanor. The staff truly makes you feel like family. My family and I had a great time. If you’re looking for incredible soul food paired with exceptional service, Red Velvet is the place to be. It’s a South Florida gem that we can’t recommend highly enough!

We've been to this restaurant a couple of times and enjoyed the food on both occasions. The fried chicken and fish were both tasty, and the yams and mac and cheese were almost as good as my grandma's. The signature Red Velvet cornbread put a colorful twist on a familiar classic. However, the oxtails missed the mark because they were not as well stewed as they should have been. Service was 5-star, but that might have been because no one else was in the restaurant while we were there. I hope that's not a troubling sign, because I'm planning to go back.

So sitting here and had an intrusive thought about my Sunday lunch at Red V. I decided to splurge and have the chicken livers with white rice and gravy. I also had the candied yams and collard greens. IT WAS ALL DELICIOUS. I’m daydreaming about my next meal at RV. The candied yams are amazing. The collard greens are tasty w/o containing a lot of meat. The first I liver I tried seemed salty but the rest were seasoned perfectly. Oh and the cornbread?! It too is a 5 out of 5. Loved it all b/c it’s tasty and the chef does lot overdo it with lard and unhealthy fillers. It’s clean eating although it’s soul food. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WITHOUT ANY RESERVATIONS. Happy my friend Robin Duncan told me about this Black & Woman Owned Business. I’ve been twice already and will be back again this week. (The fried shrimp was banging too! Ordered it as an appetizer.)

I enjoyed the ambiance. It had a "Where grown folks go to dine " feel. I had the smothered chicken which wasn't bad, just different. The base of most smothered is baked chicken. In this instance it was fried. Not bad, just unexpected. The candied yams were just right, not overly sweet. And the mac and cheese was standard.

First time at Red Velvet and it was a great experience. I had the smothered pork chops and they were delicious. Tender and flavorful. Mac and cheese was perfect. Will definitely be back.

First visit & it didn’t disappoint. The recommendations were on point. Food was delicious with generous portions; service good but a bit slow. Music & decor added to the ambiance. Good vibes, overall it was a great experience. Me & my Family will definitely be back!
